| Saint Mary's drops to #21, falling five spots in this week's AP Top 25 poll. The Gaels are the higher-ranked of two West Coast teams in the poll, the other being Gonzaga at #24. Saint Mary's started off the week with an upset loss at Gonzaga, 73-59. That was followed by a win at home against Santa Clara, 82-67.
Gonzaga enters the poll at #24 following a week that began with an upset win at home over Saint Mary's. After that came another win at home against Loyola Marymount, 78-59.
Kentucky stays number one for the third week in a row.
Joining Gonzaga as a newcomer, Notre Dame breaks into the Top 25 at #23 with a win at West Virginia, 55-51 and a win at home over DePaul, 84-76. Wichita State comes in at #24 with wins against then-17th ranked Creighton, 89-68 and Northern Iowa, 82-57. Creighton falls out of the Top 25 this week with an upset loss at Evansville, 65-57 and an upset loss at home to Wichita State. Mississippi State drops out after a win against Ole Miss, 70-60 and a loss to Georgia, 70-68. Harvard drops out after a win against Pennsylvania, 56-50 and a loss to Princeton, 70-62.
Murray State is a big mover this week to #16 after an upset loss at home to Tennessee State, 72-68 and a win at home over Austin Peay, 82-63.
